Much as I have been a long time follower and attendee of the pattern we have adopted in our religion of choice, the problem has always been in the form not the function. Jesus said we are to all strive to be the least among all and we have simply taken the capitalistic business model and called it "eglesia" / church. The stories of the Bible and the teachings of The Christ are not trusted and tried, nor taken seriously and so we rely on "leaders" rather than what the Bible actually teaches (one could go on here at length about the Holy Spirit and all gifts as equal in the eyes of God). But even if we didn't believe in the Bible as a guide with good stories on how humans can best live together in love and love of God, we could see elsewhere that "power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely". In fact all we need do is look into our very own little small hearts and understand that the whole world longs not for leaders but for servants. IWhich is exactly what Jesus tried to show and tell us. To keep hearing Pastors and other paid professional-Christians call themselves "servant-leaders" makes me tremble for them. I understand you and I am a better follower of Christ for sure for the handfull of pastors and plethera of theology and spiritual writers I have been changed by knowing; but we keep beginning with a wrong premise -- they are not fallen, they are on the wrong path from the start. All someone needs to do if they want to experiment and to be a "leader" like Jesus or Paul is to stop being paid a salary for "serving" a "congregation" and to get a job for money and then "go into all the world preaching the Gospel" and doing unto others as we would have done unto us. We all need to take to heart that the first shall be last... fallen or not.
