Romans 2:5 "They show that the work of the law is written on their hearts, while their conscience also bears witness, and their conflicting thoughts accuse or even excuse them."jRomans 2:14: "For when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do what the law requires, they are a law to themselves, even though they do not have the law. They show that the work of the law is written on their hearts, while their conscience also bears witness, and their conflicting thoughts accuse or even excuse them ". I think your last line in this essay should be the first line of your counter essay on this topic. I have spent a lifetime studying not just the teaching of Christ. the Bible, various other ways to the Truth, and of all things that point to The Way of The Christ and searching for "the truth, the light, and the way" with the desire to be born again. But all of my study is for naught unless my spirit has been opened to the Ultimate Truth / "Holy Spirit" of our Divine image and our calling to the will of God in Kingdom life and now my words are getting in the way as words so often do -- even as I tremblingly invoke the name of "God" as we are warned against again and again. Any way, St. Francis had a good idea when he prayed: “Christ with me,

Christ before me,

Christ behind me,

Christ in me,

Christ beneath me,

Christ above me,

Christ on my right,

Christ on my left,

Christ when I lie down,

Christ when I sit down,

Christ when I arise,

Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me,

Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me,

Christ in every eye that sees me,

Christ in every ear that hears me.”

However it happens, Christ "in" us is available to all -- no matter what has been provided on "the outside".
