This is absolutely fantastic. I wish I’d been able to have you as a guest speaker “back in the day”, when I taught Alice in Literature classes. Alice like all great philosophical musings and artistic masterpieces, was a joy to “dissect” — and as you point out there is always something new to discover. When I taught it, it was usually without official approval because the “philistines” accept the trash talk about Caroll, so I had to do it during lunch hours for students to receive extra credit. I got to teach the amazement that is TAoAiW recently, before the world shut down, to my husband and son as we saw a fantastic production of the play at a local rep theatre. (They took it pretty well.:-) )I could gush and gush over the gems and treasures and personal connections that you have pulled out of this great classic (and classic, as you say, means a person should read it over and over and over again). Well done. Such a delight to read. Keep your Cheshire grin as a secret weapon. And Happy Birthday, by the way. Jane
